High-demand equipment like biosafety cabinets, microscopes, thermal cyclers, and autoclave require advance reservation through our online booking system. Training is required before first use. Most general equipment (centrifuges, shakers, etc.) is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
No, members are responsible for purchasing their own consumables, reagents, and chemicals. We provide recommendations for suppliers and can sometimes coordinate bulk ordering for commonly used items. Basic items like DI water, ice, and cleaning supplies are included.
-
Each bench membership includes dedicated cabinet or shelf storage at your workstation. We also provide locked storage cages for larger equipment, reagent libraries, or personal items. Refrigerated and frozen storage (4°C, -20°C, -80°C) is available with shelf space allocated based on your membership tier.
-
Yes, within approved limits. All hazardous materials must be properly labeled, stored in designated cabinets (flammables, corrosives, etc.), and documented in our chemical inventory system. You'll need to complete chemical safety training and provide SDS sheets for all materials.
-
Biohazardous waste disposal is included in your membership. We provide red bag waste containers, sharps containers, and coordinate licensed pickups. You're responsible for following proper waste segregation protocols learned during safety orientation.
